Swaminiji grew up in Benaras, graduated from BHU with a B.Sc in physics and chemistry, and is fluent in Hindi, English, Telugu, and Tamil. She migrated to the US in 1977, raised a family, and worked in the commercial insurance underwriting industry for almost 20 years. To maintain her deep interest in religious activity, she took an active role in her American Hindu community by leading Akhanda Tulasi Ramayana, Valmiki Ramayana, Devi Mahatmyam, and Geeta parayanam and kathas, arranging satsangas and hosting scholars. In 1990, Swaminiji met Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati in Saylorsburg, PA and from then on had continuous exposure to Vedanta study. She had the blessing to study Advaita Vedanta with Pujya Swamiji directly and with foremost teachers of his order in India and the US. In 2013, she joined the 3-yr residential Vedanta course in Anaikatti.

Swaminiji took sannyasa at Swami Dayananda Ashram, Rishikesh, in 2018. She was ordained by Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji. Currently, she lives in Charleston, South Carolina, USA where she teaches Gita and chanting.
